Handbook
American Board of Internal Medicine is the only recognized board in the specialty of internal medicine and is one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties. The ABIM is an independent, non-profit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as signifying a high level of physician competence. The Board receives no public funds and does not issue licenses.
The Graduate Financial Support (GFS) System is used to pay graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. GFS is part of the PeopleSoft system, which is used to enter financial support information for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, which feeds into payroll.

Course Directors Handbook (link not working)
Office of Graduate Medical Education: The OME serves as a resource to course and clerkship directors in all aspects of medical education from curriculum development and teaching skills to new methods of evaluation.
The Committee on Courses and Curriculum is a standing Committee of the medical School Faculty Senate, which is responsible for all decisions regarding the medical student curriculum. The CCC holds regular meetings once each month, with additional special meetings for ad hoc committees or the full committees arranged as needed.
Teaching and Learning Technologies
Teaching and Learning Services is a collaborative effort of staff from the Office of Medical Education, Learning Technologies, SUMMIT, and Lane Medical Library to provide coordinated support services to course and clerkship directors. TLS is the key point of contact for course and clerkship directors to receive assistance with course design, classroom needs, use of the web, and use of new technologies in teaching. Goals and priorities are developed in consultation with a TLS Advisory Group.

The OME provides assistance and information to the Committe aon Courses and Curriculum (CCC) and the Medical School Faculty Senate on all aspects of the Medcial School curriculum including:
- Reviewing the content and quality of courses and clerkships
- Responding to requiremetns of the LCME acrrediting body
- Assessing National Trends and making recommendations for curricular modification
- Contributing to the faculty development by sponsoring workshops and education retreats
Committee on Courses and Curriculum: The Committee on Courses and Curriculum is a standing Committee of the medical School Faculty Senate, which is responsible for all decisions regarding the medical student curriculum. The CCC holds regular meetings once each month, with additional special meetings for ad hoc committees or the full committees arranged as needed. The CCC is responsible for approval of all new courses and clerkships, collecting evaluations and reviewing all required courses and clerkships, as well as addressing any matters related to the curriculum brought up by faculty or student voting members. All CCC recommendations involving amendments of the graduation requirements must be approved by a majority vote from the Medical School Faculty Senate.
Course Support - Directors Guide
Evaluation of courses and clerkships, as well as overall program evaluation, by a central medical school committee is mandated by the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME -- the medical school reaccreditation committee). Office of Medical Education will help with course evaluation.
E'Value is a new web based evaluation system that is being developed and implemented for evaluation of courses.
