Health and Safety Record Keeping
Keeping Records - PI Training: Record keeping of health and safety activities may be grouped into two categories, non-accident related records, and accident related records. Keeping good records will provide quick and convincing answers should any compliance issues arise at a later date.
Examples of non-accident activities include:
- Employee Training records
- Lab Inspection records
- Record of past Hazard Corrections
- Record of prior Accidents, Injuries and Illnesses
- Record of Disciplinary Actions.
Examples of accident related activities include:
- Information about every occupational death
- Every non-fatal occupational injury and illness
- All non-fatal injuries involving one or more of the following:
- Loss of consciousness
- Restriction of work or motion
- Injury-necessitated transfer to another job
- Medical treatment by medical professionals
